An American period coming-of-age comedy-drama.
In 1973 San Fernando Valley, 15-year-old actor Gary Valentine prepares for his high school picture day. He strikes up a flirtatious conversation with 25-year-old Alana Kane, a photographer's assistant. She rebuffs his advances, but meets him for dinner and they begin a friendship. But the path to love between Gary and Alana does not run smooth. The film charts their friendship over a year: him smitten and her, mostly, resisting.
