The imperious Princess Turandot poses three riddles to any prince who dares to court her, and commands the death of all who fail. When an unknown prince triumphs, the prospect of marriage strikes terror in Turandot’s heart. He offers her an out — but only if she can guess his name. What will Liù, the slave who loves him, do to guard the secret of his name. What will it take to melt Turandot’s resistance?

TURANDOT is the bonus final opera in the successful inaugural Mangawhai Opera Lovers Film Festival.

Join us for a glass of bubbles and canapes at 3.45pm.

There will be a short introduction to the film (5 minutes at 4pm) before the film is screened. A short, written synopsis of the opera will be provided.

Note the start time is 4pm (1600), not 3pm, following the introduction of daylight saving. Ticket price is $12, but it is free for those who bought tickets on 15th October, when we were unable to play the opera.
