Tony Palmer’s film about Britten. After Britten’s death, Peter Pears, his lover and long-time inspiration, asked Tony Palmer to make this film in memory of him. Made in 1979 it includes a host of friends and relatives. The film enables others to share something of this strange, haunted man and his gift to us.
This documentary is in advance of the screening of the Britten’s opera Death in Venice, being screened 14 July.
