A 2019 American period drama film written and directed by Greta Gerwig. It is the seventh film adaptation of the much loved 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott. The film chronicles the lives of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth—in Concord, Massachusetts, during the 19th century.
However, this adaptation is not just a new retelling of the familiar story, but a creative and ambitious reimagining, that has won critical acclaim and gained several Oscar nominations.
